R.Tucker Thompson Tall Ship Sailing

DAILY SAILINGS

Catch the breeze and set sail for the day from Russell on board the unique tall ship, R. Tucker Thompson, built in the tradition of 200 year old schooners. She has sailed the world, but these days you get the opportunity to join her and her crew to explore the stunning Bay of Islands.

A day out on board is fun for all ages! Join the crew and help set the sails, grab a harness and ride on the bowsprit or even climb the rigging. For the less adventurous, just relax and enjoy the Devonshire tea freshly baked in the galley each morning.

At lunchtime the vessel anchors in a secluded bay. Step ashore, take a swim or try swinging from the yardarm. With all this sea air and activity you'll have a hearty appetite - taken care of by a tasty barbecue lunch cooked on board. The ship is spacious and comfortable and the friendly crew makes it a personal experience. It is often voted as the best day of any holiday.

Operated as a not-for profit charitable trust, profits from tourism activities are used to support youth sail training programmes over the New Zealand winter.
